Retro Rumble 2016

This weekend I had the first Retro Rumble game night and competition of 2016. I’m really happy that so many people could join! A total of 22 guys and gals were competing, and a few more were there spectating ^_^ It was a blast, and even though there were so many people competing everything went extremely smoothly!

All of the 22 contestants got to compete in 6 games. The games that were played were:
Psycho Chaser for PC Engine, first stage, 1 life and best score.
Race for Philips Videopac, 2 minutes score attack.
Sonic 2 for Sega Mega Drive, first stage, speedrun, best time.
Phoenix for Atari 2600, 1 life, best score.
Daiku no Gensan for Famicom, first stage, one life, best score.
Sachen Tetris for NES, level 9, 30 lines, best score.

When all the games were played one team had the highest score and won the A-Team price! Congrats NinjaBrite, Matt8Bit & Slurpas!

Before the semi-finals we stopped for a retro gaming quiz that I put togehter ^_^ Some of the questions were a bit difficult on purpose but a majority of the questions had 4 options for answers :) The quiz master was KRS ^_^

Wobbly, KRS, TekkenCarr and Slurpas made it to the semi-finals! They got to compete in three games. First up was Horace Goes Skiing for ZX Spectrum, where they had one pair of skis to get as high of a score as possible. Next up was Sugoi no Hebereke and VS Collection on the Super Famicom. It was a good fight!

Slurpas and TekkenCarr came out victorious and made it to the finals where they competed in Twinkle Star Sprites on Neo Geo MVS arcade, Joy Mecha Fight on Famicom and finally Pong on my new Ajax TV Game system ^_^ It was an even fight but the Pong match settled the score and Slurpas became our 2016 Retro Rumble Champion! Congraturation A Winner Is You!! XD

Once the competition was finished we continued gaming all night long ^__^ So much fun! Thanks to everyone who attended! <3

Now here’s some more pics from the evening :D

Game Room updated!

A lot has been happening this year, both outside the game room and inside! I have gotten myself another arcade machine, a Blast City from Sega. It’s fitted with a 4-slot Neo Geo MVS board, so I have yet another way to play all the MVS games I’ve bought instead of using the converter in my AES. I made room for the candy cab in the game room, and this lead to a bit of re-arranging for it to fit. I’ve also increased the amount of gaming stations, with more TV’s! :D So many TV’s!! There’s a total of 20 in the room right now ^_^

I have updated my video game collection page on here, but here’s most of the new pictures as well! :) The collection keeps growing :D

Me in my retro game room

I’ve been visiting a lot of gaming conventions this year, which also means acquiring a lot of new retro games ;D I will hopefully have some time this christmas to update the various libraries with scans on the site and perhaps add some new ones :) Meanwhile I am always on instagram posting retro game related stuff whenever I’m gaming or whatever ^_^ Feel free to follow me on there > @retro_gaming

Don’t forget to check out my other site www.geekygals.net where me and my gals post all types of nerdy things! The latest post was about a retro gaming competition I hosted for the first Geeky Gals Gathering which was very successful, we had a lot of fun! ^_^

My Game Room and Collection 2014!

I’ve been so busy with work and playing games with friends online lately that I haven’t gotten around to finishing my own video tour of my new Game Room. Thankfully my friends over at GamingGrannar paid me a visit and filmed it for me! :D They have now released all 5 episodes of my retro video game collection.

The first episode covers my Virtual Boy collection and Super Famicom. Unfortunately for all you non-Swedish people all the episodes are in Swedish, but you can still see all the games and stuff, you just might not understand what we’re saying about them ;D Here’s the first episode:

The second episode is covering my PC Engine collection, Dave gets to try out some PC Engine shooters like Cocoron and Download, and we play Katochan & Kenchan:

The third episode is about Famicom and we play some Crisis Force and other games:

The fourth episode is basically a tour of the game room and the setup and Dave gets to play some Vectrex :)

And in the fifth and final episode we go through my Castlevania collection and some Sega Mega Drive games:

There’s still a lot of things that GamingGrannar did not cover, but I’ll continue to post about all my games here on my blog ^_^

Hopefully I’ll get around to finishing my own video tour soon, meanwhile here’s some recent pictures I took of the game room (things haven even changed since they were here this summer) ^_^

Video tour of my Game Room!

So I made a video… it’s a bit awkward and I couldn’t get the freaking formats to line up the way I wanted them too >_< and the lighting in my room is very … red!! But still, I hope you’ll enjoy it!! ^_^
