PC Engine collection

Now I’ve finished a page on my PC Engine collection! So far I only have 53 games for the system, but it’s been growing fast ^_^ So I’ll keep updating the collection!
Some of my favorite games that I have for the PC Engine so far are:

Castlevania Rondo of Blood
This one mainly because it is a great addition to my Castlevania Collection, I haven’t been able to try it out yet since I don’t have the CD addition to the PC Engine or the DUO. >_< But I’ll hopefully have one soon!

Adventure Island
A really fun action platform adventure!

Final Soldier
A great vertical shooter!

Batman
This game I beat a few weeks ago, and it’s got some great music and the gameplay is really fun and different for a Batman game! :D

Dragon Saber
Great vertical shooter where you play as a dragon, it’s the sequel to Dragon Spirit which is also awesome ^_^

Genpei Toumaden
This game is both an overhead platformer and a sidescrolling platformer in 2 different sizes. It’s really challenging but also really fun!

Jinmu Denshou
This game is a lot like Space Harrier in the way you’re flying into the screen, but instead of shooting you have a sword to hit enemies with. Quite interesting, but also hard.

Makyou Densetsu (The Legendary Axe)
A fun action platformer! With awesome music! :D

Pac-land
Just soooooo much better than the Famicom version!!!

And I have loads more great games for the PC Engine, like R-Type, Rastan Saga II, Sokoban World, Space Harrier, Super Star Soldier, Tiger Road…

A fun shooter ^_^

Arabian Dream Scheherezade
I like the artwork, it’s an adventure game, wasn’t quite as fun as I had hoped though..

Boulder Dash
A classic puzzle platforming game, I love this game ^_^

Dragon Spirit
This is a really great shooter from Namco, where you play as a Dragon! :D

Flipull: An Exciting Cube Game
Is just what it says, an exciting cube game ;D Well, it’s a decent puzzle at least ^_^

Ganbare Goemon Gaiden Kieta Ougon Kiseru
Now I think I have all the Goemon games for the Famicom, but I’m not sure..

Gun Sight
A shooter to fill out my Konami collection ^_^ It’s in really nice condition!

Holy Diver
A really great platforming game! Lots of fun :D

And last but not least I’m gonna mention a timeless classic:

This game never gets old! It’s just so much fun to run around on an ostrich and flap about :D

Check out all the other newly added games in my Famicom Collection >>

I have simultaneously been working on a PC Engine collection library, I have so far scanned all the games I have and I’m working on a page for it as well :) coming soon!!

NES controller + camera + photoshop!

I have another photo shoot that I am working on, it’s all my various Game Boys playing outdoors! :D Coming soon, meanwhile here’s a NES controller I also took a pic of and played around a bit with ^_^

Retro Room – My Collection

I’ve been quite busy this last week, I’ve moved my previously tiny little retro gaming corner into a bigger room in our house! :D This was much needed since my games didn’t fit in there anymore O_o

My previous Retro Room (that’s what I call it due to the vintage interior design and all the retro video games) was quite narrow and I have been working for years adding furniture to the puzzle in an attempt of trying to make all my games fit in there. Here’s some pictures of how narrow my previous Retro Room was:

Eventually it was filled with so many games that I had no more room of storing them, they were lying all over the place and it looked messy :(

So my boyfriend and I decided to change rooms, he got my old one and I got our big work-room for myself! :D
It was a lot more work than I had anticipated, putting up new wallpapers, moving all the things out of both rooms and then moving stuff back in and arranging the furniture in a good way.. it was quite messy during the process:

But I tried keeping things organized since most of my games were already in alphabetical order..

So after a whole weekend of decorating and stuff my new Retro Game Room is finally finished! Here’s the results:

Underneath the big TV int he middle I have 11 consoles all connected to it ^_^  (NTSCN NES, SNES, Twin Famicom, SMD, DC, PS2, Saturn, N64, SFC, SMS and GC) on the right TV I only have an NES and on the left TV Japanese SMD, SMS, PC Engine and Atari 2600.

My 8-bit perler beads came in handy when decorating some dull spaces ^_^

My NES Zapper corner, along with some SFC, FC, SNES and N64 games ^_^

The painting here is made by a friend of mine and I love it so much! It’s some of my favorite game characters of all time ^_^ Samus Aran, Sephiroth, Master Chief and Lulu from FFX :D

My Castlevania collection now takes up TWO shelves! and is the centerpiece of my collection ^_^

I have 4 large bookshelves next to each other on this wall, and on the last one I ran out of shelves because I used them all in the others. I am in the process of getting more shelves though, so soon I’ll be able to stack this last bookshelf full as well, I have one more box of games outside the room waiting to be unpacked ^^

My little space invaders shelf ^^ I used to have only Famicom games in it, but now I put my C64 games on the top compartments and my Famicom Konami games on the bottom (the bottom ones doesn’t have endlabels :( and also there’s a Wonderswan!)

I also really love my new Nintendo neon sign! It really lights up the room ^_^ I have two more neon signs on the way, I’ll blog about them when they arrive :D

In this corner I have my desk, hardly visible here though. I also have all my boxed GB, GBC and GBA there and some Famicom games ^^

Finally my Commodore 64 got it’s own place and didn’t have to stay on the floor anymore! :D

I also have a few consoles which I have doubles of, and these I keep on the desk in case I want to record gameplay :) Like my Famicom with Disk System :D

I am incredibly satisfied! And I want to give out a special thanks to my wonderful friend Becky who helped me move and organize everything this weekend! :D

Additions to my Castlevania Collection – Legacy of Darkness

Soon after having finished my post about my Castlevania Collection I realized I was missing quite a few games that I just haven’t gotten around to buying yet.. this bugged me so I went online and bought them ^_^ So far these ones have arrived:

It’s Castlevania Judgement for the Wii, Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin for the DS and Legacy of Darkness for N64. I’ve scanned them and added them to my Collection.

I also realized something when I tried out Legacy of Darkness.. it’s the same game as Legend of Cornell in Japan o_O So I basically already had the game..

But they looked so different, the artwork, the name and everything. I would never have thought it was the same game. But when I started Legacy of Darkness and found that the main character was called “Cornell” then I got it.. when comparing the backs they actually have exactly the same screenshots:

Well, for a complete collection I guess I will have to find all the different releases eventually anyway ;D

More Castlevania games are arriving soon! Will be updating then :)
