Complete Donkey Kong Game & Watch!

The history: As some of you might already know, I didn’t get any games as a kid, however, my thirteen year older brother did! I know because when I was really young I got his old Donkey Kong Game & Watch passed down to me, so in a way I did get games, but only one and it wasn’t originally intended for me. I loved this Game & Watch though. I played it all the time, all through the summers I was walking around with it, until it was one day lost. I don’t know what happened to it, if I forgot it at my aunts summerhouse, or if I just misplaced it or something, but ever since I’ve been missing it immensely! And I have always been keeping an eye out for it the last couple of years on eBay. I’ve bid on so many orange Donkey Kong Game & Watch systems that I lost count, but never won them >-< Until now!!

I finally got my hands on a complete in box Donkey Kong Game & Watch Multiscreen! It’s all orange and pretty and brings back so many memories ^_^

The box is a bit worn around the edges and has a price tag on it but apart from that everything is in pretty nice condition ^_^

This game is so much fun! I also have the Game & Watch with Donkey Kong II which is also awesome, but this one brings back so many memories ^_^

The manual is also in really nice condition, here’s some outtakes from it, explaining the gameplay ^_^

It’s a japanese edition, but I don’t really care, it’s the same game and the same amount of nostalgia and fun ^_^
What’s your most nostalgic game? Let me know in the comments below :D

Cassette-rack-box-thingy for my C64 games!!

This weekend I went to a second hand store and found the most awesome thing I’ve found in years!! The second hand stores around where I live never sells games, I usually see antique stores and random charity shops to loot for decorative nonsense, jewelry and interior stuff like furniture and such (yes I do buy other things than games sometimes) ;D

But this time I found something that was completely and utterly useful and fit right into my Retro Room!! A vintage cassette rack box thingy!!

Cassette box

It’s all orange and pretty, which is the color I’ve been using in my gaming room ^_^ It fits right in!! AND now I have a really clever storage for my Commodore 64 games :D

And it looks awesome when it’s filled with some C64 cassettes ^__^

Cassette box with C64 games!

There’s even some room left in one corner so I can buy even MORE games for the C64 :D Any good suggestions of what the must-haves for Commodore 64 would be? ^^

Sega Game Gear!!

I finally got myself a Sega Game Gear! And it’s in original box, from Japan :D

And it’s in pretty good shape ^_^

So now I’m finally able to play all the Game Gear games I’ve been purchasing! Though this sucker demands 8 AA-batteris! EIGHT! And it sucks them clean quite fast.. I need to get myself a power adaptor..

I’ve gotten a few games, they are: Fantasy Zone, Battletoads, Columns, Dragon the Bruce Lee story, Popils, Sonic Spinball and Sega Game Pack 4 in 1 (this one I only bought because it was really cheap and it was listed as Rare on Retrocollect.com)..

One of my favorites is Battletoads, even though the cartridge label was slightly faded from sun exposure, it’s still a great game! And the Game Gear version is way better than the Game Boy version, then again it’s two completely different systems. The Game Gear version looks just like the NES version! And the music is awesome ^_^ Once I get a power adaptor I’ll try to see if I can get passed the third stage! I managed on the Famicom :D

Another favorite is Fantasy Zone! The cartridge is really pretty ^_^ But it’s also a really fun shooter!

And I looove Tetris-style games, so Columns is an obvious choice of mine. I can play it for hours! That was the game that emptied the Game Gear batteries!

The other 4 games I basically just started up to see that they worked, I will give them a go another day ^^ I completely forgot about the 2 games my friend had bought me, Castle of Illusion and Wonderboy. I will have to get more batteries before I can try those two out as well..

And still I can’t stop beading… here’s my Space Invaders!
